Overview: ABS

ABS resin is widely used in various electrical and electronic components, automotive parts, toys, cameras and pipes as it has diversity in both its manufacturing methods and material characteristics. It features high impact and flexural strength, excellent mechanical properties, chemical resistance, mold ability, dimensional stability and paint ability. ABS resin performs in a variety of ways based on the polymerization process type chosen and the controlled interaction between base material and various additives. Since the first use of ABS resin on manufacturing pipes, the material has been developed to provide better melt flow characteristics and greater flexural strength. We now produce ABS resin that satisfies requirements regarding thermal stability, flame retardant and antistatic characteristics.

Overview:  HIPS

Generally HIPS is useful for the electric and electronic applications due to its excellent material properties. The materials used in electric and electronic applications must have flame retardant properties to prevent fire caused by the occurrence of electricity leakage. In addition, due to legislation regarding the use of flame retardant materials for fire safety, there has been a steadily increasing demand for flame retardant products. When dealing with plastic material for fire retardant, the following general approaches are available: design of the basic polymers and incorporation of chemicals. For many plastic materials, the most feasible method of improving their nonflammability available flame retardants, such as halogen compounds(Br, Cl, etc). Cheil Industries Inc. produces various grades of Flame Retardant HIPS through the advanced production technology.

Overview: PC/GF

The staren PC/GF, which is an engineering plastic made by adding glass fiber to polycarbonate(PC), has excellent mechanical properties, heat distortion temperature, and self-extingulshing characteristics. The incorporation of glass fiber into the PC matrix provides various advantages.

Since the type, length, and amount of glass fiber used in the manufacturing procedure produces significant material properties, a careful selection of the proper grade is recommended for the successful use of glass fiber reinforced PC.

Overview: PC/ABS

Staroy PC/ABS, featuring the favorable characteristics of ABS such as moldability, better impact strength at low temeratures, and metal plating, is a remarkable engineering plastic with the essential properties needed for engineering plastics. staroy PC/ABS explicitly shows character by combining the excellent mechanical and electrical properties, heat resistance, dimensional stability of polycarbonate, and the high qualities of ABS such as workability, and secondary processability. Moreover, the heat stability, weather resistance, and flame retardant promote the plastic’s usefulness as a material in automobiles, electric and electronic goods. Flame retardant plastics are essential for fire safety. staroy PC/ABS is a remarkable flame retardant, but also super-weather resistance and heat stability.

Overview: PPS

PPS along with advancement in industry, demands for high performance polymer materials with heat resistance, chemical resistance, and the like are increasing in many fields.

In particular, as automobiles and electric and electronic parts tend to be compact, light in weight, and high efficient, materials with heat resistance, chemical resistance, and high rigidity are demanded. In addition, as environmental issues have forced thermosetting resins to be replaced with recyclable thermoplastic resins, PPS resins with these properties will be demanded increasingly.

In electric and electronic industries, as products tend to be compact and slim and require higher heat resistance temperatures, demands for PPS resins with high performance properties such as electrical stability and dimensional stability will continue to grow.
